Initial Consultation: During our Free 30 Minute Consultation, we will discuss with the pet owner specific needs of your dog, including any medical conditions, allergies, or sensitivities.

Understanding the Medication: We will familiarize ourselves with your dog’s prescribed medication, including its purpose, the dosage required, administration method, and any potential side effects.

We will have and will request emergency contact information for the dog’s veterinarian.

Building Trust with the Dog: Establishing a bond of trust with the dog is essential for successful medication administration. We will spend time getting to know your dog and earning their trust through positive interactions, such as playtime and treats.

Administering Oral Medications: If the medication is in pill form, we will use techniques such as hiding the pill in a treat or using a pill pocket to ensure the dog takes it willingly. We will be patient and gentle during this process, offering your dog praise and reassurance.

Topical Medications: If the medication is topical, such as ointments or ear drops, we will follow the vet's instructions carefully regarding application techniques and frequency. This will ensure that your dog is comfortable and relaxed during the process.

Injection Medications: If the dog requires injections, we have prior experience in administering them safely. We follow proper hygiene protocols and injection techniques to minimize discomfort and risk of infection.

At this time, we only offer cortisol injections for dogs diagnosed with Diabetes.

Observation and Monitoring: Throughout the pet sitting period, we will closely monitor the dog for any signs of adverse reactions to the medication, such as vomiting, diarrhea, or behavioral changes. We will communicate any concerns promptly with the pet owner and seek veterinary advice if necessary.
